Frequency Ranges (ISM frequencies)

Frequency Wavelength
433,92 MHz ± 0.2% 69,14 cm
915 MHz ± 13 MHz 32,75 cm
2450 MHz ± 50 MHz 12,24 cm
5800 MHz ± 75 MHz 5,17 cm
24125 MHz ± 125 MHz 1,36 cm

Table 1 shows the internationally determined ISM-frequencies used in industrial, scientific and medical applications. With the exception of the frequency 915 MHz, all the indicated frequencies are allowed in the German Federal Republic. In the field of industrial microwave heating, a frequency of 2450 MHz is almost exclusively employed for all applications.

In comparison with conventional high-frequency technology, microwave technology requires special components for generating and transporting energy which is due to the considerably higher frequency.
